PSNow = Portable ps3/2/1 ??

[ Edited ]

Imagine, You just upgraded to the newest Galaxy s5, or nexus 6 or whatever.

What do you do with that old phone with HDMI (such as the one sitting beside me)

Well i will take my old xperia ion, plug the HDMI into the TV, sync my ps3 controller, and have a portable Ps3/2/1 console for anywhere with decent wifi access. (my 4g is 30mbs so i can just tether)

How great is this. As for the ps4 backwards compatibility, its a mixed bag. I think its good. But as a service that can stream to my tablet/smartphone (which directly translates to my TV as well) independantly this is AWESOME.

Edit: I've merged your post with the pre-existing thread on PS Now.

I do not think Playstation Now will be included in PS+. Sony has probably already had an extreme boost in PS+ since the PS4's release. I think that a lot of people that already have PS+ subscribe to Playstation Now as well

This is awesome news. This may have a bigger impact on future Playstation consoles as well (at least the price of future consoles).

That being said I still do not see why they could not include it in the ps+ maybe a option of forfeiting free games for the trade off with this but in reality it will mostly likely be something along the lines of 50-60 for a year of its service.

Awesome news, it looks like I might be able to play my favorite SOCOM games in HD on my ps4 after all. Maybe they can just add this service to ps+, even if it was $20 a month it would still be a great value when you consider the 100's of games you would have at your fingertips.
And the results are in, the winner of Sonys #20YearsOf Play poll is...
"Winner: SOCOM II: U.S. Navy Seals (24.74%)"

It's a great day to be a SOCOM fan!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome job SOCOM fans, Worldwide!

I had a similar thought but my other thought was that they could offer a cheaper subscription price to people who have PS+. So like $20 to regular consumers and maybe $10 to plus users.

Well Subscription based...

Unless it's tied to PS+ I'm out.

My PS1,PS2 and PS3 work anyway..... Games are cheap on Ebay or Amazon these days, if your console breaks that's cheap and the wonderful thing is...

You own everything you buy from those places. I really can't see why anyone would pay for this service if they have all the consoles in working order. The cost of old games and maybe a replacement console sometime seriously undercuts a vast majority of subscription fees.

The only people who should be buying in to this are people who jumped ship from Microsoft and missed out.

Sorry.. I really don't like this idea as I know where it's going. In about 3-7 years every single new game will be streamed only.

I wonder how well this will work. I remember Onlive was super hyped back in 2009 and then flopped.

This will be exactly the same thing.nobody wants to stream old games when ps4 games start churning.and its gonna be laggy and slow.just like onlive was.

Did you have OnLive? Because that's not my experience from it at all. It works, but the game selection sucked.

yes I did habe onlive.my experience was server disconnects.massive lag as well as a crummy selection.

The Price is currently TBA.

but i think for Plus members it should be free because...some peoples in this forums dislike the subscription based because they have boughted PS Plus and have to pay it again just to play PS3, PS2 and PS1 games to your PS4, Vita, Smartphones, Tablets and Bravia TV sets.
