I wonder how well this will work. I remember Onlive was super hyped back in 2009 and then flopped.

I recently heard that a new streaming service called Playstation Now is in development and set to launch by the end of summer.  I wanted to know if Sony needed a Beta Tester for the service.  It seems like a very interesting service and I would love to help out any way I can.

There will be a beta, but no information has come out as to how it will take place. No information if it will be an open beta, close beta, invite only, or who qualifies to beta test.

Just wait for information from Sony as it's likely to come out soon.

Says Closed Beta at end of January for United States only.

Digitaljournal:

PS Now will offer choice to gamers with how they want to access content. Gamers can rent by title for specific games they are interested in, or they can choose a subscription that delivers additional value with the ability to explore and play many games available across a wide variety of genres. In addition, the service will support many popular PSNSM features such as online multi-player, Trophies, and messages.

I'm excited for this service and for trophies. I can't wait to play many old games on PS4.

There is no other information aside from that. Closed beta could mean by invite, completely private, or people must meet certain criteria to get in. Just like Open Beta could mean everyone gets in or certain requirements are needed to get in. No details have been posted as to how exactly this closed beta will take place.

Very excited! Will be interesting to see how the streaming of PS3 games will work and if the service could actually detect what games we already own and let us stream them for free. A pipe dream, but hey, I can dream. Smiley Tongue

This is good news, and will act like BC, it also states if you don`t want to subscribe you have the option to rent the games you wanted to play. Once the games start rolling out on it, it will also solve the hassle of going back and forth between PS3 and PS4, as I don`t have room for both, and there are still some upcoming PS3 games I wanted to play.

Did you have OnLive? Because that's not my experience from it at all. It works, but the game selection sucked.
