Hopefully that will be the case, because I think you are right high memory card prices will negitively impact people buying a lot of digital content on PSN...
I'll probably snag the 16GB and that'll be it (to store my old games).
All my Vita games are going to be the physical medium, to save me the trouble of having to buy another card once a lot of games come out.
I would think that they'd increase the size limits though. PSP games could range from 200mb all the way to the max 1.8GB. So if Vita games are larger than that, you could only hold so many on a 4 or 8GB stick before having to shell out even more money (especially since the 4GB stick would really be around 3.8GB).
What actually surprised me that Sony's advancements in "XC" flash format technology where not applied to the PS Vita memory card as it could have potentially made for fast and reliable 64Gb (and up) PS Vita memory card sticks although, it is far to niche to appeal to such a high spending consumer and expect them to buy +$100 for a single PS Vita memory card.
Do we know that it is not applied? I have not seen any technical information about them. Or maybe it is employed in the game cards?
$124 for the 32gb? Ouch That would be the one I'd go for too.
I'd need around $400 for the WI-FI model if that's the case. And that's not counting any games. That's a lot for a handheld. Of course it does have the HDMI-out.....and I can't say there's anything to touch out there from what I've seen.
I'll just get the 16 GB too. Someone made a good point. If a few old downloadable games come out then I will have space. But I want to have enough space for pictures, video, music, and game saves.
I'd probably go for the 32 gig one as well, if they don't offer anything larger.. I'd really like to have a card large enough store a good amount of Vita and pap games on, i'm kinda tired of carrying around tons of game cards.
$125 for 32GB seems rather steep. Although, the 32GB PSP stick is still hovering around $80~$100 depending on where you buy it. On Amazon, it's lower, but it's still pretty high.
I'll probably end up getting it though, so I can play my digital purchases for PSP.
I went to Fry's today and these were the prices on Sony's Micro Memory Stick M2 for the PSPgo.
Maybe the Vita's memory cards will have a similar pricing structure over here...
