"Cannot add funds to wallet" *screams"

Ok, I spent all night researching this, spent 45 minutes on the phone with sony, 10 minutes on the phone with gamestop, and I'm ill

 

I purchased two PSN cards. Both are worth 20$.

 

Both cards are activated. PSN knows how much they are worth, and gamestop, just like target (where i work) instantly activates them once the checkout process occurs. There isnt a way NOT to activate them.

 

I go thru all the steps to add then, it says Would you like to add the 20$ card to your wallet? I say yes, It says I can't add funds.

 

The people at sony said they've never heard of that before and blamed gamestop.

 

Is it currently doing this to anyone else?

How are you trying to add the funds? Are you trying it through the redeem codes? You should probably try through the transaction management and transfer to wallet. Ive had a similar experience before.

Okay, just tried that. Still the same error

 

Im on the master account, also. I know someone might say that to me haha.

Never heard about this problem either. Have youtried looking at your ccount mangagement settings? or maybe your account is on lock. Tbh I'm not sure

im having the same problem with my card. iv tryd everything and all im getting is funds can not be added to wallet

Yey!  I'm not alone!

I'm in Canada, Toronto, having an exact same issue, cannot add funds to wallet.

Right now it's at the end of December 2010, and SCE has not posted any reponse to our cries of help, nor replied any of my emails regarding this issue.

After calling in with a retard support, simply asked me to verify my banking info with "my bank" and reset the settings in PSN for billing/payment multiple times, he asked me to try again in the next 24hrs.

Seriously?  Nothing worked, still unable.. unless SCE/SONY Corp is planning on assisting, they've lost another long time customer, I will move on to the new XBOX with kinect and xBox Live, $59.99/year? I will pay for it with all my happy heart and content because it doesn't fail like Sony's software and firmware failures.

Hoping SCE will contact me soon with a happier resolution for this issue.

The way I've been getting around this is to completly remove my billing account information before adding funds - doesn't matter if you're redeeming a PSN card or funding via a credit card.  If redeeming a PSN card, you can do that after the billing info has been deleted.  If you want to add funds with the credit card you previously had setup, you have to add your billing info back in before doing so.

It's horrible, but it's worked for me twice so far...
