23 replies 11 views Edited Feb 21, 2012

do i have to take the system to an at&t store or can i activate it from the vita itself. and with the plans, is that data or speed? i can see 250mb going really fast and they just turn off the 3g if you go over it?

You can activate it yourself via their website or the PS Vita or whatever, and the amount of MB's you buy is capped, so once you've used up all your data, you'll have to buy more the next month.

sorry but I will only answer that you can get your 3G plan on your ps vita. (the 3G ps vita comes built in with a 3G sim already installed.)

http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/index.html

there is the manual just in case you were looking for it.

I don't know how it is in the UK, but in the US, according to ATT's website, if you go over your data allotment they charge you extra.

Oh really? Someone told me they send you a text message when you're about to run out or something, and that was on these forums.

Oh I've been through it with my phone. They sent me a text saying that I was about to go over. I ignored it. A week later my dad started screaming and cussing at me cause the bill was over $300, due to a massive bill on the data, with overage fees attached. So believe me, it is possible to go over, and it's not really something you want to do.

Contrary to popular belief, I really am female. - 1 day until I get a PS Vita! (GMT) - Простые движения

How can they send a text? The Vita can't receive texts, and you might not have a cell phone.

I'm fairly certain AT&T doesn't warn you (I have a smartphone with a 2GB limit, I reached 1950MB and they didn't warn me at all. I just turned it off myself).

I do know that (for smartphones) they charge $10 if you go over and give you 1 more GB. (Of course, idk how DataConnect works)

Why would anyone wanna download games over 3G? That's just gonna get eaten so quick.

even if you want to do that over the wifi, and if youre away from wifi to browse the web (if you dont have a smart phone with unlimited) and play multiplayer while youre away from the wifi

how much data could it take to play an online game if they have offer such a low amounth of 250mb?
