As the topic says, I cant get it to charge from my ps3, but it works if I use my PC to charge it.

I've also had my ps3 for a while now, maybe its from the new firmware update?

doubt that. the usb port in the ps3 isn't working. did you try a different one?

tried both on the front, and the port IS working, I tried watching some tv shows through a USB pen drive and it detected it.

Are you using the same cable to charge thru the ps3 and pc?

the cables sony use r picky.i have a dozen cables but only certion ones will charge the controller on ps3.it will with pc./also usb linking my psp same thing only certion cable properly work.

if your not using the charger that your ps3 controler came with then that might be the problem

I only have one cable so yes I'm using the same cable, the same cable that I've always used.

This only started up after the new firmware update so I'm guessing it's from that.

The USB port works and the controller accepts charge from the PC so it's not the cable.

I don't see why resetting it would make a difference but it can't hurt. There is a hole in the back of the controller. Use a toothpick. If that doesn't help, and like I said I don't see why it would, I'm stumped. Just use the computer to charge it.

Ive never had an issue liek this BUT a USB problem generally means that either the Universal serial bus (USB) is not getting enough power, or software is causing an issue.Is there other things plugged in at the same time? could there be multiple controllers? etc

thats all i can think of.

try restting the ps3 itself.
