No, you have to create an internal memory card using the Memory Card Utility located under the Games heading, on the XMB. Select Create PS1 Memory Card, and then assign it to Slot 1.

Let me know when you figure out how to hook up a Ps1 memory card to a ps3.

Lol, no, you can partition the HDD to allow for some space to be used for PS1 formatted saves.

No, as there would be no place to put it. You create a digital memory card to save your progress to on the PS3. No memory card needed.

No.  You can 'create' virtual memory cards on the PS3's HDD using the Memory Card Utility on the XMB.  You can create as many cards as you want, but you can only have 2 'virtually' plugged in at a time, just like the original PS1.

If you can still find one, there was actually a PS1/PS2MC-to-USB adapter that MadCatz released a few years ago.  You could plug it into your PS3 and 'import' the memory cards to the Memory Card Utility.

No but it doesn't matter they haven't real eased a good ps1 classic in over a year and a half. It's been terrible. All they release is games not in English that we can't buy. I wouldn't waste my time

no...I knew about those, but seeing as I havent seen any in recent years I figured it was irrelevant. Why did you have to ruin my flawed sarcastic remark? Smiley Mad

You could use that glorious BC functionality and buy a physical copy.
