low quality and lack of apps

10 replies 223 views Edited Sep 20, 2012

I just bought another PS3 for my new place, its been a while since i've had one.  I'd like to say that the lack of apps is disappointing.  Only thing i can use for free is Youtube app and the youtube app is awful.  Netflix is good, but of course i pay for that.  I'd like some more free apps please...   Any news on new apps or updates of the apps?

It's not an iPhone. I see that a lot. "I want more apps". That's a very ambiguous statement. Well what do you want to see, and have you put it on the Blog Share?

PS3 doesn't need 'apps.' It has THE BEST games available.

Sadly a lot of people lose (note the spelling) sight of that. I can already watch television with my cable box, and as much as I love it,  I don't need to watch The Big Bang Theory on my PS3. I bought a PS3 to play GAMES.

There are new apps coming out for the PS3 all the time, unfortunately they will probably only appeal to certain segments of people.

For now if you want a gaming console with a lot of polished high quality Apps, buy a X360 with a XBL Gold subscription. You get what you pay for...

Sadly we probably won't see to many new apps on PS3 as the Ram is split between the GPU and CPU.

But on the plus side, at least your PS3 will still be running in 3 months which is way more than you can say about that "other" console. So I say that's a win.

I don't believe with how the RAM is split has anything to do with the amount of Apps the PS3 gets. The Hulu & Netflix apps on the PS3 function just as well as on the X360...

Also, teliability of the X360 has not been an issue for quite some time...
