LIKE analog broadcast changed to digital 2009 how about a just thinking a 1080 to 4k box or reciever
That's not how screen resolution works though.
My TV, for example, is a basic standard definition TV. When the switch happened from analog to digital, picture quality didn't improve all too much, because my TV can only broadcast at 480p. All it did was provide clearer signal.
But resolution, which is determined by pixel count, cannot be increased via software, if the resolution isn't present to begin with.
There is NO way to convert 1080p to 4K on a screen/TV/monitor without replacing the screen/TV/monitor.
A TV has a set amount of pixels. You cannot just add pixels to a screen. When you go down resolutions (like 1080 to 720), the screen just uses more pixels to represent 1 pixel.
But there's no way to make pixels out of nothing. 4k is a resolution, not a signal
You can't "convert", resolution is hardware.
Umm..... sort of... resolution is software for the most part....
PC's have had no trouble displaying 2k/4k resolutions for nearly 10years
but without having the proper amount of pixels on a screen, you will never realize the resolution
