yeah but how do you get it? do you download straight to the ps3? or do you have to go to like best buy or something and buy a disk? and is yellowdog linux available?

If you don't know how to download and burn Linux onto a cd or dvd, I would suggest not messing with Yellow Dog or any other PPC distro on the PS3.

For Ubuntu, go to this page: Download under Ubuntu 6.10, the Newest Ubuntu Release pick your location then Right Click>Save as... on the 2nd link (CD Image for Apple Macintosh PowerPC based desktop and laptop computers). Once it's downloaded to your computer, burn it onto a disk then load it to your PS3.

I was just gonna get Fedora but this looks better. But YellowDog does cost money? or are they only saying it costs money if you want the DVD? i was just confused about that part, and the extra costs for ISO downloads and a YellowDog account?

It's free to download; only costs money if you want them to mail you the DVD and provide technical support.

As somoeone else mentioned above, if you're new to Linux (as implied by not knowing how to download and burn disk images) I recommend you stay well clear of trying to install Linux on your PS3.

If you're really interested in Linux, build yourself a cheap PC and install Ubuntu or Fedora on it...
