Anyone have any luck with this?

THe problem is so frequent it renders online play basically useless. Rarely get to finish a match. This is a serious problem for the PS3, if I cant play online whats the point in even having a PS3??

port forwarding / DMZ / reseting modem / router has no effect.

Bump.

I've been having this problem for the last month. I've tried port forwarding/setting the PS3 to DMZ/Plugging in the ethernet cable from my PC/Plugging the PS3 straight into the the cable modem. And nothing seems to help. I get kicked off PSN like every ten minutes (that is if I can logon in the first place w/o getting timed out).

I think the problem started when I made a Euro account to download the Euro KZ2 theme. Some people have said that their main account doesn't work but sub accounts do. I tried making a new account on the PS3 and a new login to PSN but that doesn't work.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem yet??

60GB PS3

Belkin wireless router and I have the PS3 using the wireless. (as I mentioned before I'ved tried plugging in the cable but that didn't work)

EDIT: I've also tried turning UPNP off and on (both on the router and PS3).

I've looked all over the net and nothing I've tried so far has worked... has anyone found a definitive solution?

Re: error 8002A548

Now,I have the same problem , I live in Ireland, use Irish Broadband which is radio internet (with a reciever on the roof),it's not the best internet but it works with PC no problem,I also used to have X360 and had no problems with Xbox Live,I could play COD 4 for hours , my X360 since died and I went for PS3,had no problems till around july/august and after firmware update it all went down the drain.I consider myself lucky if I get connected at all or am able to play full match of COD 5.All that talk about routers seems to me like drawing attention away from real cause. My friend is IT specialist and tried everything, including plugging straight into internet modem, that didn't work better. So what's the story, for all people with same problem please state your Internet Service Provider and country you're from,I am considering changing my ISP but want to know if people get same problem with other providers : BT,Eircom,NTL etc. I have nothing against Sony, I had PSX,PS2,PSP i now have PS3 but I really would like to play online,I miss my X360 and Xbox Live ,you had to pay for it but at least it worked. I checked this forum today and every page out of 25 i checked has a post about PSNetwork problem this could be something bigger but it's spread over many similiar posts , so if you have the same problem try to post here and we see how many people are experiencing same problem.

Re: error 8002A548

Dec 4, 2008

I'm also having huge PSN connection problems that I can't seem to resolve.  Tried with two different routers and still nothing.  I've been scouring the net for a couple months now but haven't found a definitive answer.  So far I've tried disabling Media Sharing, enabling/disabling UPnP, port forwarding, DMZ, wired, wireless, static/dynamic IP...everthing but still cannot get a stable connection to PSN. The PS3 either timesout when connecting or if it does connect will throw the error 8002A548 after a short time.

What I have seen is:

- PS3 connected directly to the modem seems cool

- PS3 "wired" to the router with no other machines on the network seems fine (with media sharing/UPnP turned off on the ps3)

- PS3 connected "wirelessly" to the network with no other machines on the network seems fine (with media sharing/UPnP turned off on the ps3)

- Adding my PC back the network seemed good for awhile but started having problems soon after (may have to do with media sharing on PC ... even with UPnP disabled on router).

- Port forwarding adding and adding PS3 to DMZ did not help.

- Must reset router to factory defaults and reconfigure before I can start testing over.

Trying to narrow it down but it seems to be a combination of Media Sharing/UPnP/Router and PC...haven't been able to narrow it down further. Still working on it

Re: error 8002A548

Dec 8, 2008

I've been having this problem for about seven months now and have gone through three routers trying to figure out what the issue is.  Online play is not a possibility like this, and even staying connected to the PSN while playing a game offline doesn't last very long.  I'm currently using a Linksys WRT54GL with Tomato custom firmware v1.19, but I've also used a Linksys WRT54G v8 (latest first-party firmware) and WRT310N (latest first-party firmware).

On both the WRT54G/L, the issue seemed to go away after I brought the routers home, but within a day, started up again like nothing had changed.  I installed the GL last Saturday, and I had no connection issues until 24 hours later.  I don't see how this can be a problem with my hardware or network configuration.  It's completely unacceptable that we continue to receive this error over and over and over.   It's certainly not a connection or general network issue - my XBOX 360 stays connected for hours on end.  In fact, I've never had it log me out due to connection errors.

I've scoured forums all over the internet, and haven't found anything of use.  If someone could please help us out, it would be appreciated immensely!  I just want to have this resolved before Home comes out.  T___T

Re: error 8002A548

Dec 13, 2008

I've just started getting this error message every 5 minutes or so.. but the weird thing is it happens with my PS3 directly connected to my cable modem. I've power cycled both modem and PS3 but it hasn't helped at all. I've even exchanged my cable modem for another one and swapped out all cables but no luck. I really don't think this error message is related to using a router because like I said.. I'm not using one.

That PSN status webpage doesn't give any info either.. just black where I would assume content should be. anyone else getting any info from the PSN status page (located here: http://www.us.playstation.com/ps3/network/status)?

frustrating.....
