dead ps3 fat 160gb help

18 replies 247 views Edited Sep 18, 2012
So she has been dead for almost 4 months now. Been so rough. Took it to a guy near dallass, tx. Far away from where i actually live, luckily been staying with my dad.

The "fixer" guy told me it was not fixable. Said it was one of the rare fats that just could not be fixed.

Has anyone heard of this, seen or read that could shed light on something i could do. Build it from the ground up if i have to. Where do i start? What sites that can be trusted for instruction and materials. Please.

All great, and truthful help is greatly appreciated.

YLOD, not good, it'll need repairing, I hope you have a back-up of your saved data, if you don't it's now lost.

Sorry but if you didnt back up your data you can just consider it gone now. As far as it not being fixable my guess would be one of two things the guy you delt with dont know how to fix it, or the parts needed are no longer avaliable anymore. I would call Sony tech support and see if they can fix it. Also alot of times on work like this it can be cheaper to use Sony rather then a second party. If you cant or dont want to mess with Sony then you could try a Gamestop some of them have repair services. This could come down to it can be fixed but cost of repair may be higher then the cost of a new system so they may have just told you it cant be done. Good luck hope you can get your game on soon, but always remember when working with any type of computer always back up anything you dont want to lose.
