I was hoping to play my PS3 on my new samsung smart tv series 7 but when I plug in the HDMI cord, the tv doesnt recognise anything. I tried even unplugging the HDMI for the satalite chennels and plugging in only the PS3 but still nothing. Please help. is it my cable thats not good enough of do I need to reset something, which I really dont want to do as the tv is mounted and everything is all set up already. What other way can I get this to work?
There's a bunch of threads here about this problem. Anyway, follow these steps and it should run.
1. Hook everything up normally, leave ps3 in STANDBY (red light).
2. Turn on TV, select input for ps3 (i.e. HDMI 2, or where ever you have it connected)
3. With ps3 in STANDBY, press and HOLD power button for 5-10 seconds. until you hear SECOND BEEP.
4. Ps3 will now display a message to use HDMI. Select yes.
I'll even give you a video link for the process: HERE
Does this resolve the problem that the TV doesnt recognise that there is even anything plugged into the HDMI? Its not just the display but the TV itself doesnt recognise a new device as plugged in and says connection error
