Re: broken PS4s

Nov 14, 2013
I've been lucky as launch consoles go, had no issues with the first ps3 model, no issues with the 360, and yes no issues with the wiiu, so I'm optimistic with the ps4.. But the thing is.. My impressions with Sony will not depend on the failure or success of the ps4 I pick up, but what Sony will do to fix the issues should a problem does show up.

I would hope Sony tested the patch by now and there wont be issues.  When I turn my system on Tomorrow and it prompts me to update, I will.  I will be kind of angry if my system has issues.

He also talks about us at 3:00 am when almost everyone is sleeping.

Back on topic, there have only been 4 PS4 reported. What about the other 3000+? People don't go to forums to let everyone there system is working. There busy playing their game. 4 broken consoles out 4000 is more than acceptable.

We're foolish to think there won't be hardware flaws; either from design flaws or rushed production/QA.

BUT, hopefully this HDMI issue IS just a handshake issue that can be fixed in software, like someone else suggested. Normally we haven't seen hardware issues turn up until several months after release.

I need to do my best to avoid worrying about something that I can't change for the next 14 hours.  Que Sera Sera.   You have a year warranty.   I will be **bleep** if mine doesn't work but at least I'll get a replacement.

It's because they're not including hardware for a HDMI passthrough and a motion-detection camera. I fully expect the One to have issues too. And this HDMI issue will not be the last issue we see with the PS4.

Well I have a Sony Bravia TV, So there shouldnt be any kind of HDMI handshake issues.. I would get the brand of TV those gamers with the so called defective PS4s are using.. Because the Apple TV had the same problem and they found that it was due to some TVs.. I checked for a Firmware update on my TV lastnight and there was not any...

So what was he supposed to do?  The system was completely frozen.  Unplugging seemed like a reasonable solution.
