**bleep** sony!

I got the vita, maybe two weeks it came out, and I got the memory card and game and everything! So like everyone, I downloaded stuff, I saved things and everythings cool, so I set up my passcode, so no one could enter, unfortunately, there had to be a format button! Why??!! That's the dumbest thing ever! I had my vita taken twice, and they formatted it. It pisses me off!! Please let there be an update were take it off!

Like many mobile phones, entering a lock wrong would cause the phone to format itself or lock itself up altogether.

It's meant to protect your data, not immobilize the unit after it gets stolen.

If you want to save your data, pull the memory card out before giving it to jerks who do that to you, or yet don't give it to jerks...

...um I rather there being a format button, then someone hacking it to get my psn id and such and steal that. (Since that way they will not go and steal your id stuff. Why do I say that because its easier just to format then to figore out someones code. Also that most people who steal something like that are not able to hack.)

Re: **bleep** sony!

Could have backed up your data like most people in this time period do. If the data is that important to you, you should back it up or invest in backing it up if you for some reason don't have the space on a computer.
