The ps3 is pretty safe from viruses and I have never heard of any trouble with them. So I don't think they make any.

Im curious..because I know either norton or mcafee is giving away a few months free antivirus protection, but do we really need it at all?

Does anybody know for CERTAIN whether or not the PS3 can be infected with viruses...technically wouldn't you just have to visit a site that infects the unit with spyware?

The Ps3 is based of a Linux Operating system. You, your children, and their children will die before your playstations "Catches" something.

What if you "accidently" download questionable content of adult nature..don't those files usually have spyware and viruses that infect your system like a bad case of crabs?

You can install Linux on a separate partition on the PS3 hard drive but the PS3 does not run on linux it has its own proprietary O/S.

To OP:  The PS3 O/S is just like any other O/S; it can be compromised by a virus if someone has the time and no-how to create one and then attempt to distribute it.  Windows has been a target for years being the most widely used O/S on the planet.

Yea you may not be able to get viruses but I just had someone try to hack my ps3. It was a windows based screen that popped up and said I have viruses just like if it where a computer. So there for yes uyou do need a virus program or the stupid people who like to hack things will try and get in your system. To all the hackers out there get a life and quit messing up other peoples stuff!!!!
