I'm getting the feeling that Nhilistic must have saw the bad press and said, "you know what, If Treyarch got beef for thier earlier games and turned themselves around with a knockout game, so can we!" Everytime I see it, the game looks much better with each trailer I see and looks even better looking than Resistance for Vita. Heck, the multiplayer - while I was skeptical at first for 4vs4 - looks like alot of fun.
I'm not even a COD fan (I usually play the single player and trade the games back in the next day), but it looks like that despite the short release schedules between the two Vita games by Nhilistic, I'm getting the impression that something else might have been going on between those two games...
What if COD BlackOp's 2 Declassified was actually being developed since the release of the Vita, at least the engine part of it. As they were still working on it and producing the maps of the settings for Declassified, Sony was approaching different groups for a Resistance game and getting denied despite it being announced (with no screen shots at the first announcement). Then Nhilistic said they would do one alongside Declassified, which was a wrong move on their part. With their then early engine, they popped some skins of Chimera on their existing AI and quickly formed a story of sorts along with a couple maps that just wouldn't fit with Declassified but tweaked enough after that fit with the style and backstory of Resistance. Seeing how from announcement and then a couple months later Resistance for Vita was released, people believe it was a rush job and probably it was. Maybe the whole time the main team of Nhilistic was working on Declassified (remember, the game was announced well before the Vita showed it face at it's first E3 conference), while a small number of people - let's say 4 or 5 out of 20 - were working on Resistance. Could be the reason why there are so many bugs and QA problems with Resistance.
Declassified seems to be getting lots of showings now at alot of conferences and each showing the games seems to look better than last time according to my eyes and many are saying at least the Multiplayer is fun.Resistance didn't even get half of the showings for Vita in regards to conferences which makes me believe that this whole time that Resistance was a backburner type of game that didn't get alot of love from the Nhilistic team, Declassified was their main focus.
I'm hoping this is true, I'm probably going to still buy it as I kinda liked Resistance on Vita as it showed that Shooters were meant for the Vita - NOT the DS, 3DS, Iphone, or Android Phones. The dual analogs scream for shooters but we currently don't have such games besides Nhilistics efforts or the soon to come Killzone game (PSOne classics and PSP games with tweaked Vita controls don't count). I'm going to try to be optimistic with the Declassified game more than others. Reviewer websites like IGN, Gamespot, and the likes of even Gianbomb have let me down as I believe they have the mentality that they HOPE the Vita fails so Nintendo or the phone/tablet market can take over as the only options for on the go gaming. The Vita provides me and other's something that NO Phone, tablet, or Nintendo creation can give- an awesome console experience on the go (I'm not talking graphics wise, I mean gameply wise - that topic is a stupid path to tread on).

I only really have the spare change for one game. CO:BOD looks interesting, and maybe I'll pick it up later, but for now, P4G is where I'm throwing my money.
