One thing I have heard is that the yellow light means is that there is failure in the Power Supply. So what I'm going to do is buy a new PS3 Power Supply and see if it works. But If it doesn't. I will have no other option but to send it to Sony for repairs or replacement.
if you got the yellow light, don't waste your money or time on a new power supply. it's the solder connection.

mine just ylod
question is it looks like its a common thing with the earlier models, why do we have to accept this hardware failure crap?
we bought a gaming console that was destined to ylod
just sucks for us eager beavers who put faith into Sony playstation when we couldve just tried an Xbox
if its a hardware fault why do we have to fork out money to fix it? why doesnt Sony take ownership of this problem

I have been out of the YLOD for months now. I got tired of it always coming back every 3 days after doing the hair dryer trick. So since I took my PS3 apart Sony told me they will not be able to service my PS3 or give me a replacement. So I found another company that fixes XBox 360's and PS3's. They call themselves the 360 and PS Pros. I made a order for them to fix my PS3. BUT b4 it was time for me to send it 2 them I did the hair dryer trick again and after that I went to the PS3 recovery mode and when I did that it last for 8 days. Then I sent it off to the Pros and they said they could not repair it and I told them I want a refund for the repair, I did not want a replacement cuz I know they would give me a refurbished used PS3 and I did not want that. Ever since I got my PS3 back for the Pros my pS3 kept freezing up and later it got to where nothing shows up on my TV, even the recovery menu would never show up. So ever since, I decided to get a new PS3. On this very day I am 20 dollars away from getting a 120GB PS3 slim.
