Today after starting my PS3, all of a sudden i saw that the controller was not working anymore. Pressing the PS button many times, did not help, the red light just didn't come on. So i ran out to game stop and got a cheap PS3 compatible controller since I raised a service request. I thought i would just check out if the issue was with the controller or the system. Turns out that the other controller also didn't work. The system is not detecting any controllers. Even when i connect it via an USB. So just was wondering if the controller is the culprit or the system. Have anyone of you faced anything similar before?
Okay, I missed that part. My bad. Process of elimination.
- Try the controllers on a different system to see if they work.
- Try pressing the reset button on the controller.
- Try another accessory on the USB ports, to see if they work. That way you can see if it's the USB port that's the problem.
If the last one fails you might have a dead USB port.
