Making money is fine, we all need to do it. But stepping on your customers toes to do so is a no-no.

Agreed, hopefully I'm wrong and that they add support sooner rather than later for those that use Bluetooth headsets like yourself.

I'm a bit excluded as I use either my wireless Astro A50's or PlayStation Gold Headset for chat/audio needs...

Thanks, me too. I just bought some Turtle Beach XP300's and wireless chat will only work through Bluetooth. This works fine on the PS3 but no the PS4.

Yep.

Also, with regard to the OP, this is a similar situation as with the Pulse headsets, as the audio profiles on the PS3 and PS4 differ greatly.  As @da1writer said, sure, they might come out with a new bluetooth headset at the same time as a possible update, but, at that point, your old headset works.

I had very, very little interest in the Pulse's, but they seemed my best option until the Golds came along.  Everyone is different.  Do I think the legacy headsets should work?  Yes.  Do I think Sony would be evil for bringing out a new product to coincide with a firmware update? No.

I don't care if they come out with their own product. If it's good and I like it I will buy it. But I should be allowed to use my own bluetooth device regardless.

Wow I'm surprised bluetooth is still around. I use to use that thing on my fat nokia phone back in the early 2000s

What an odd statement... I can only imagine that you're so young that "the early 2000s" is ancient history to you.  Do you still feel the same way about WiFi?  That's a lot older than Bluetooth, but came into regular consumer use at a similar time.

How about TCP and UDP?  They were developed in the 70's and 80's respectively.  And I'll bet you use HTTP, SMTP, IP, IMAP every day.

And yet, the Bluetooth we're talking about right now is very different to the one you were using so very long ago.  Bluetooth is not a specific technology, it's a communications standard; therefore, it evolves.  In the 2000s, you were likely using v1.0 or 1.1.  We're on version 4.1 now, and you might like to look up all of the features that have been added in the intervening period.

It's December 2014. Even after the 2.0 and 2.1 update, still no Bluetooth support for headsets.

How long is this going to take?!

Another thing that bugs me is that they don't have UPnP in the network settings anymore like the PS3. You have to run a connection test to force check UPnP which is aggravating.
