Re: Wifi or 3G?

Jan 13, 2012

I was going to buy the 3G version but where I live doesn't provide pre-orders for it anymore. I'm getting the Wifi model I don't really need 3G since I'm near wifi signals all the time.

I see less and less reasons to get the 3G version over the Wifi only version. I would only find it beneficial if I did a lot of traveling, otherwise I believe there are plenty of Wifi hotspots available in the US (for most people) for one to connect the Vita to...

To this day I don't see the reason to be connected 24/7 with 3G. Plus, here in Vegas we have Clear which gives us decent internet anywhere we are, so I don't see the use of 3G. Another reason why I'm not getting it is because I rather use that extra $50 dollars into getting a 32GB memory card.

3G isn't $50 it's $15 for 250MB and $25 for 2GB. I highly doubt many people, if they go with 3G, will even need 2GB of data for stuff like social networking, but it could be useful for updating leaderboard stuff and searching for other PS Vita owners in your area, for those who care for such a thing since a phone can't do that. Wifi while better connection than 3G is only really useful if you're sitting in one spot not so much if you're in the car moving.

well the 3G is $300 witch is $50 more up front as the wifi only model is $250 that is what he is talking about.

so you have to pay $50 once then pay $15 for 250MB and $25 for 2GB to use the 3G part of it.
