Are you on a wireless connection? try speakeasy.net/speedtest on your PS3 and also do a speedtest @ http://www.speedtest.net/ on your computer.
I apologize for any confusion, what I meant to say is that my games were taking hundreds and hundreds of minutes to download, it would say 300+ minutes to download, anyway, I think it was the connection at the time, I was able to download and install what I wanted, sometimes my connection when it comes to downloading and installing games may vary from time to time.
How are were able to download 2GB in such a short amount of time? You used media go and/or have a great connection?
I would recommend using Media Go as it is my experience that the PSP downloads very slowly and it is not worth the wait for large files. Of course, it depends on your connection speed (try what hiptechboy suggested). You can check if you are getting the speed you pay for and if you have any doubts you could post the result here.

Kryshalis was just commenting on your mistake like I was in my first post (no offense ). It is not meant as an exaggeration; 2 seconds is about 3 hundreths of a minute, so the "problem" in your topic could actually be a very fast connection.
for my wired high speed it would be maybe 1-3 to download 1GB on wireless high speed the time would be cut in half just about but depending on how many things are connected to your internet it may take longer becausethe amount of info your router recieves is divided (sometimes unevenly causeing connection loss) among all the devices connected.
My advice is for big downloads (1GB+) use pc with wired connection.
Oh, I thought you were talking about your ps3 downloads. The problem is the go only has a 802.11b radio. This means that in theory, you can get a max download speed of 11mbps. But you have to keep in mind that signal strength can also degrade its speed.
