I've never really thought about it much before, but my cousin just got a ps3 and reminded me. Every time you quit a game or an application the ps3 has to reboot completely...why? What are ways to avoid this?

When you quit an app or game you should get the black screen with the XMB loading up from scratch. You should not hear any beeps though.

(i've notice this, both turn off and reboot) Haven't had any problems w/ the apps; Howvere when i'm playing a PS2 game and i go to Quit Game, the system shuts down and reboots (disconnecting controller), well my controllers wont sync up. I have to shut the system down wait a few seconds then start it up w/ the controller again.

That usually occurs when you play Psone and ps2 games, so it's normal if you see your controller disconnecting for a couple of seconds.

Emerald_Swords: I understand them disconnecting. But none of them (6 controllers) will resync after it reboots. I have to shut it down by hand {hoping it's not froze, so i dont crash it} and start it again w/ the controller... is this normal for everyone?
