Ive seen a lot of worry / trolling on both teams about the " leaked rumor" of how Much Ram is used by the PS4 OS.
Is it overkill? Of course it is the OS will not need that much RAM at launch.... but they expect to get 10 years out of these consoles so they HAVE to leave resources available for upgrades and new features.
I also see a lot of people using Killzone as a vocal point because the devs said they used 4.5GB of RAM... If you have not noticed its a Launch title. Those never optimize properly because its brand new hardware
As example the ps3 has 256/256mb and one of its bigger launch games was Call of Duty 3..... Fast forward to devs getting better and using that same hardware you can play Battlefield 3 and others.
im just not seeing why there is so much concern. The PS4 is amazing hardware the most powerful gaming console ever made and some people are worried that devs can only use upwards of 4.5 GB of GDDR5
in Closing I leave you to ponder this.
Battlefield 3 , The last of us = 256mb DDR3
PS4, 4.5/5.5GB GDDR5
More is better. I demand more or ps4 pre-prder=cancelled
Yep, if Sony doesn't add 2 terabytes of ram I will cancel my pre-order.
Dam right brother!
Thanks Saviorsixtysix for the sig
I would like to see more then 4.5 gb dedicated to gaming when you are putting in 8gb. I would say at least 5.5 minimum, I want a gaming system first and everything else second. You can compare ps3 mb's all you want but that is a lot of room for future upgrades to os.
This is a real eye opener very dissapointed about this news, 1 gb should be plenty for thier operating system.
