42" Sanyo Plasma Tv. i think i need an upgrade? i looked at the specs and it said it has 480p resolution. probably should get something more modern? any suggestions? reply with @koster447

@koster447  Yeah if you have  a PS4 you should deff upgrade. Your not even seeing the best possible graphics for games at 480p. It is not even high deff resloution. Even if your playing on the PS3 your still doing games an injustice. Searching for the right TV is hard b/c everyone has so many diffrent choices for what they like. My best advise is just to stick to the name brand stuff and dont get something just b/c its cheap. LG, Sony, Samsung, I would rank in the top 3 for TV quality and best picture but there are many out there that ae good as well. Just stay away from the bottom of the ladder stuff. If they carry it in walmart and you dont see it a best buy then you know its crap.

Just a word of advise for a lot of you who have a nice HDTV be sure to adjust the settings ( calibrate the TV ) once you get it home. I 'm not saying none of you do but a lot of people dont. They take it out of the box and think it will look like it did in the store. In store models are set up the way they look b/c of the lighting and you wont get the same picture in your home. You can calibrate the settings by putting your model # into google and you should be able to find something to show the the settings to get the best possible picture.

LG 46", 120Hz HDTV with a viewing distance of 8-10 feet for gaming and about 14-16 feet for movies.  Not the best or newest, but the picture is still just as good as the day I purchased it and at this point, there is really no need to replace it since it works flawlessly.

Samsung 61" RGB LED 3D true 120hz. with 140% of the NTSC color standard.

Response time of about 16us.  (More important then Refresh rate, and why Plasmas are just 60hz)

Sit about 7-8ft away from it.

Has the Cinema Smooth engine which produces the most film like picture possible by completely eliminating any space between the pixels, giving 100% screen fill.

This acts to remove artificial sharpness in digital content, which smooths jagged edges kind of like built in Anti-aliasing.

I love my tv, the color, the speed, the size, its just an amazing piece of tech, cant believe I have had it for 7 yrs already and it still out performs most tv's (Basically 99% of LCD tv's) on display in the big box stores.

Finally, the structure of my question is that you would have to disprove every possible outcome to be correct and I would just have to have one that would likely be beneficial. That's statistically in my favor by quite a bit.
