Sony KDL-W900A without a doublt. I had an old Sony Grand Wega that was about 8 years old. I was originally looking to get a low priced Vizio since they had ok input lag and decent reviews. I then went on lo AVS Forums and started to do some research. Two weeks later I had the w900a delivered ay Amazon. The w802a is also good but more issues have been reported with it and with all the current deals the w900a can be had for only 150.00 more

you cannot update the hdmi output.  but a 4 k tv will upscale. vizio has a 50 in 4 k coming this spring for under a grand. other than that nothing beats a plasma

The hdmi port on the ps4 doesn't even support it

Sony has stated that the HDMI port is currently capable of 4K @ 30Hz.  The PS4 is already capable of 4K video (Netflix is already working with Sony on making 4K content happen, but will require Netflix users to have at least 15MBps connections to enjoy).  It is 4K gaming that Sony hasn't yet confirmed.

You may take this advice or not, but WHATEVER YOU DO, do not get anything less then 55" (and if you can 120hz+)

DO:

* 55" + ONLY

* 120hz + he sharpness and the quality is simply amazing, especially on fast moving objects (on a lower hz, it just looks like a blur)

* 4 HDMI ports (if you plan on having surround sound and PC and xboxone(DVR goes into the Xbox) and ps4 connected to 1 TV)

* Get a soundbar (tv speakers just aren't good enough)

DO NOT:

* Anything less then 55" just doesn't look as good, we are in a generation where 55" is AVERAGE (My brother was an advocate of not wasting money on buying a bigger TV so he bought a 46", 2 months later he saw the 55" in my bedroom, within 2 weeks he sold his and got the same thing) The TV will last you longer then the system probably. So do yourself a favor and get a good one.

* Anything less then 120hz, is garbage, it doesn't look sharp, just blurry.

* Plasma generates too much heat and is a dying market, you won't see it on shelves in several years, most TV's are LED now.

A 120 h and 240h tv are not what you want. 60 is ideal and 600h (plasma only) are ideal. I would go into why 120h is bad, but instead I will link this:

http://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/1i9aaa/need_a_new_ps4_tv_heres_your_handy_buyers_guide/

Read through this to understand why 120h + is garbage for the ps4. If you get one you will need to disable some of the settings.

The majority of your post is an opinion.

You're not going to fit a 55" or 60" screen and be comfortable to your eyes in a small room. Even my game room.... its barely 15ftx10ft, and if were to put a 55 or 60" in it..... I'd have to replace the couch with one that is smaller depth wise just to be able to sit far back enough that I can see the whole screen without turning my head or eyes.
(Ideally, thats how you want to view ANY screen, as far back so that you're not turning your head or eyes to view the entire screen)

But Plasma's..... heat generation is not a concern over the last couple years. And LCD's have a LONG way to go before they'll be able to match the image quality of a Plasma. Input lag is still a concern with LCD's, even if they have a "Game Mode", as my $3500 Samsung 65" LED LCD had a game mode, but the input lag was still there. I only use it to watch movies in my living room now, which barely gets any use.

Plasma's are as thin as most common LCD displays, have very similar power requirements (most are energy star certified and are just a few ticks above the annual cost of use of an LCD). Are HALF the cost as any good LED LCD display.

Not to mention, the pixel response time is 0.010-0.001ms and input lag being as good as some of the best monitors

Plus, many people still play video games on screens that are less than 30"....

Plasma's "going away" are only due to the many misconceptions that arose when they first appeared. Also, they're expensive to manufacture compared to LCD's.... so most people opt for LCD anyway due to relative cost.
But if you wait a while... Plasma prices quickly drop.
I can go to Best Buy right now and buy a 60" 600Hz 1080p Plasma for just $800. For an equal size LCD, you're looking to pay over $1000 and when its a 240hz type... closer to $2000.

Go find a place that will let you play around with a Plasma and put it side by side to a comparable LCD. Plasma blows it out of the water, every time, for both gaming and movies.

You can't really say that because you've never played a game at 4k.... if you ever get the opportunity, try it. You'll quickly change your mind.

Re: What's the Best HDTV to run my PS4?

I just bought a new TV 40inch samsung 3D 120hz 6030 series 2013 (they call it 240hz buts its not!),  Even on game mode there still has a 30MS delay on it . I really don't like LCD/IPS/OLED  display when space isn't  a issue (any device which isn't portable), I am using a VG23AH IPS monitor( bought it because it supports SRGB, Semi-Glossy  coating, and can be drivem to run at 72/75HZ) andon my desktop and it still doesn't beat my old but dead Sony GDM-FW900 from 2002  in colors (Black and White mostly). What we gain with less power use, decrease in weight and size, we have lost with Image Quality, response time,  Black and White levels.
