I'm going to move this reply to its own thread
Who cares? These guys don't listen anyway. Every post in here could have said "SOCOM 2" and they would've replied "Bubsy 3D? OK! Got it! Give it an HD Collection."
Probably Defender for PS2. It was a complete remake of the old arcade game, but with 3D graphics, more aliens, a great story, and amazing, yet challenging gameplay. I believe this game is quite unknown to a lot of gamers, as I have yet to meet someone who has played it. I still own a copy of it, and still play it occasionally!
This game really opened up my imagination when I was younger, as I was always into life on other planets, and just amazed with space in general. When playing Defender, I thought fighting for control over the solar system from the aliens was an awesome concept, and Earth being taken over was a scary thought. And that wasn't it, there was also a small story evolving between the characters as you took back planets/moons.
Lastly, the game was challenging. And I mean, EXTREMELY challenging. I couldn't finish it until maybe two years after owning it, challenging. I played it pretty often, but I still played a great share of Twisted Metal and Ratchet and Clank in between, but the game was just that awesome. The split screen multiplayer was great too!
All around, I loved this game! I also think it should be released as a PS2 Classic so it can be experienced by people who never played it/heard of it, as it is an outstanding game!
