What kind of HDMI Switch?

[ Edited ]

I have many devices that use HDMI.  Now with the PS4 coming moving the HDMI cable around seems outdated.

What HDMI Switch should I be looking at?  Mainly wanting to know brands and models people trust.  Do not worry about what my setup is.  Just tell me what is good.

A HDMI Switch is like a ethernet hub, letting you connect many devices into it then a single line out.

a study has been made that shows that hdmi cables are actually all the same but run a placebo affect to fool you into buying them making you believe that theres actually a difference when there isnt one

but OP isn't talking about the cables themselves... they're referring to an HDMI Switch box

Even switch boxes are like that really. There's even non powered ones since they kinda work just like usb but carry mainly video data like 1s and 0s. If you pay more than $10-$15 you are getting ripped off.

Question if I buy a hdmi converter cable just until I get enough $$ for another TV, do you think graphics will be completely different.

Are there any disadvantages to using an HDMI Switch? It won't affect the visual fidelity, would it?
