What is the play time for Ni no Kuni ? on Easy?

I got this game yesterday and about 3 hours in..

i love Studio Ghibli  animation ... plus played some of level 5 games before...

but so far.. not sure what to think yet...

since noticed a lot of running around in this game doing ERRANDs/QUESTs....

just finished SOTLH (star ocean) -- so moving from a T rated game to an E rated game....:/

the game looks great!  it's like playing an anime movie!!..

but so far the battle is slow and i don't like running around doing quests that much...  but from the looks of it.. all the good items are from the errands/quests..  :/

I heard that you can complete this game in 40 hours .. more or less.. some said 80 hours for the platinum...

i'm not aiming for the platinum----just for the story... do you think i can finish this game without doing much of the errands?

will the boss battles be difficult if i just follow the story?  with few level grinding and errands/quests?

You should be fine without doing errands, you also have the option to make equipment or buy some in shops as well, most rewards from errands are not overly great anyway.

As for the last boss battle, it is a fairly difficult fight, but you should be good on easy if you keep fighting the battles, using the right familiars evolving them to make them stronger.

You definitely are going to have to do some grinding to beat some of the later bosses. I imagine you could complete the game in about 40 hours or so. I spent 50+ hours with the game, but I wanted to see everything. There are more quests and there is more story after you complete the game. The developers added some cool content to extend the enjoyment after you defeat the last boss.

Each familiar has an "element". If you keep each charater having as many differnet elements as you can, you will be fine.

IF you have to grind, just grind for getting the gems needed to evolve each familiar. It might add 2-5 hours to the straight story line. But still around 40 hours total.

just 40 hours average ?... i guess it's a short game  comparing to SOTLH  (i spent about 75 hours on the game)-- did some level grinding in SOTLH though..

There isn't actually any scientific way of knowing which ones are the right familiars, I don't think. You just have to know which ones you want to use, whether by their abilities or just how they look in general. Having a familiar that's a healer, as well as one that's combative can be useful to have in your party.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is average RPG length. It took me somewhere over the 60-hour mark to complete the game (probably closer to 70). If you're going for the Platinum I've heard that it can take up to and over 100 hours for this achievement. If you're not intending to do some grinding, and will be avoiding the sidequests I can imagine the game will be tougher for you later on. The last boss in the game is particularly challenging. There's even a fairly difficult fight about half-way through the game. You shouldn't be looking for ways to rush your way through a role-playing game. They're made to be enjoyed for several hours and you should take advantage of the sort of benefit the game will offer from that angle.

i thought this game was a stand alone.. but there's a sequel ??

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/04/ni-no-kuni-franchise-sold-14-million-units-worldwide

"Level-5 has been open about the fact that strong sales in the West would lead it to consider making a sequel to Ni no Kuni "

sold 1.4 million worldwide .. ps3 and ds..

isn't that a low number?/.. consider the users based of the ps3 and DS.. :/

Never played it on easy, but those times listed sound about right.

To bad you don't enjoy the gameplay that much, I liked the battles and am torn between Ni No Kuni and Tales of Xillia as my fav PS3 JRPG. Be awesome if they made a sequel.

I don't know how different easy mode is, but I also suggest a bit of grinding and beefing up your familiars before the final boss.

Your starting "mite" familiar should be one of your main offensive guys. Get a "monolith" near that beach town and beef it up and use it as your tank with it's taunt (I forget the actual abilities name). Those big banana guys are also desent and there are plenty of healer type familars that are good, I personally like the mushroom guys.

If you can get 'em before the last boss, there is a familar that looks like a dinosuar that can be found (I think) on top of genie's steps or whatever (those mountains in the north part of the desert), and then on a good sized island east of Hamlin there is a small forest with a tree-like familar that's also darn good. Both thos familar's are fairly rare though and only have one spawn location, but are worth it if you can tame 'em.

I think you're missing out skipping all the side quests and there is a really cool post-game quest line that's worth the time IMO.

I love JRPGs, but hate anime... Is that legal?

so jumping from star ocean battle system down to ni no kuni battle system.. ... :/

but i'm only 3 hours in.... so i have to give it some more time..

world of the game looks great.. this is one of the few games that i actually taking my time enjoying the scenary Smiley Happy
