I am wondering what is consuming my memory card! I have an 8 GB memory card, which as you should know, is equal to 8000 MB.
I understand that some storage space is dedicated to the standard apps/settings that you can't delete, am I right?
Here's all the standard apps that come with the vita that can't be removed.
I assume that all of these apps will take up SOME of my memory card (correct me if I'm wrong)
When I go to "system information" it says that my capacity is 7632 MB
That is why I assume the built in apps are taking up space, and I'm ok with that.
However, there is something that seems terribly wrong that I just can't understand.
When I go to "systemm information," it also says I only have 2799 MB of free space.
Here is a list of all the things I have downloaded. (keep in mind that I don't have any music, videos, or photos downloaded)
-Facebook: 24 MB
-Skype: 12 MB
-Paint Park: 42 MB
-Motorstorm rc: 653 MB
-Little Big Planet PSP: 1365 MB
-Fireworks: 281 MB
In total, that is 2377 MB.
If I only have 2377 MB of content downloaded from the PS Store, than why does it say I only have 2799 MB of free space?
My card capacity is apparently 7632 MB, shouldn't I have 5255 MB of free space available?
What is consuming all my free space?
Thanks for reading, I would really appreciate some help!
That is weird. I have about 4626 MB left on my 8 GB still, and I have used a little bit more memory than you have. I think it might be Facebook taking up additional memory to load data.
Highly doubt Facebook would take up 5GB.
Did you check Content Manager? Go in there and then attempt to copy from PS Vita to PC, and see what is listed.
I have the 8bg card too and I have 1466 mb left - depleting fast as Smart As is installing another 430 mb. But I have all the basic crap that you have to have, like you listed, and I have Little Big Planet (the cartridge), Fireworks, Smart As (cartridge), Little Deviants Demo, and Youtube. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't been raped by Sony in purchasing their stupid memory cards but holy **bleep**.
Youtube, the internet, and facebook all cache thier data for future use. Youtube will be a bigger memory killer as some may think that you are simply streaming video when actuality you are downloading the file without a way to watch it natively through you video app. Try backing up your saves through Content manager and then clear you memory after.

That would be fine if we had actually used Youtube, the Internet, or had facebook. Since they haven't been used there's nothing to cache. I don't know where the rest of the memory is, but at least I know Smart As is a major memory hog.
