  1. Nobody wants to play on the side that loses the war
  2. With the United States being the biggest video game market, do you really think a game where you kill U.S. soliders is going to go over well?
  3. Do you actually know what the Nazis did?

They need to stop making these games now. Any war based game that happens to be FPS is getting stale by this point.

That is why nothing can touch BF or COD. The market for these games is way over saturated.

I'd like a WWII FPS using MAG's engine/netcode/etc. 256p battle at Omaha Beach, Stalingrad, Iwo Jima, the Reichstag. I want to see more than just US vs Japan and Red Army vs Nazi Germany.

Bring MAG to PS4!

Do they make them because we buy them? Or do we buy them because they make them? These games are easy to make, and they rake in a lot of money. They're the equivalent of the splatter movie in the 70's.

(Harldy, there's a difference between a World War ii shooter, and a shooter with a super natural setting, taking place during World War II)

2. we will see

(Most likely we won't)

3. not everything...

(Take a history course and/or do some reading)

Well... CoD and BF make a lot of money. I'm not convinced Homefront made THQ much money and probably is one of the titles that took them under.

I don't have a problem with CoD and BF though.. Not really. I do have a problem with the lack of originality from other developers trying to copy the same formula rather than come up with a new idea or continuing their own franchises.

Game development is an expensive enterprise now. They have to make money, and trying something new is very risky. They have to make a sure fire hit, or else they could very well go bankrupt. And we see how well many in the gamer cognoscenti respond to "originality" (said with heavy dose of sarcasm).

Yes I would like to see more original stuff too, however I don't blame them for wanting to pay the bills the bills. In a few years there will probably be another shift in consumer tastes, and who knows, maybe mahjong will be the big game.
