It wasn't a long term thought process but tonight I finally broke down and bought a brand new PSP Model 3000 from Wal-Mart on Amazon.com. My old PSP had bit the dust however I have over 200 UMD games including both of the Ready at Dawn GOW titles. It was a financial decision. Sony decided to NOT make the PS Vita backwards capatible but instead sale their old PSP catalog, those games they chose to make available, on the Playstation Store. I know because I paid $40.00 for the 2 GOW titles even though I have them both on UMD format. I bring these games up because to me outside a few PS Vita exclusive games, i.e. Uncharted and Rayman Origins the best experiences for me on the Vita is the best PSP game titles, i.e. GOW titles, Killzone Liberation, GTA titles, Etc.
Now before the flamers jump on here, it really was a financial decision. Both Wal-Mart and Target are selling the PSP, Model 3000 at $99.00... And I simply found myself spending a lot of money on titles that I already had purchased and had on hand. Doing a simple break even analysis I am getting killed. And because most of the PSP games cannot have the controls re-mapped on the Vita, I didn't find much benefit to re-purchasing them...
In addition, many of the better PSP games have NOT been released on the Playstation Store... I read today that one of the considerations that is hurting the sales of the Vita is the PSP... It is a cheaper handheld and could be argued currently has a better gaming catalog. I agree and I simply came to a point where I refused to continue to re-purchase games that I already have on hand.
Sony has the right to decide how they position their products including backwards compatibility. I have the Vita and a lot of the Vita only games. However going forward I am gaming in a more cost effective manner.

Yes sir... I already had Ghost of Sparta on UMD... I paid $20.00 for the game on the Playstation Store to put it on my VIta.... Walked into my local Gamestop... They were selling it on UMD for $7.00... I felt stupid... No more... And the PSP is also a great piece of Tech...

Going retro and slumming at the same time, huh?
The 3000 was my favorite PSP,man! The Go! was a pretty good unit in some ways too, though.
Yeah,I just wish the Vita had the library I have for my PSPs too.You have a collection similar to me for PSP at 200,man.You're lacking though,I have 250 UMDs myself! Keep working on it!
Hell, we should get together and play sometime,I never knew anyone else with a PSP and had to get on PSN to have fun in Infrastructure Mode all the time!
Good Luck and have fun.

The Vita has me feeling like that a bit too.
Hell, some of the PSN prices for PSP stuff there are truly crazy! OLD PSP titles to boot.
Hell,is Sony completely crazy?I can get new physical copies at Wal-Mart or new/used ones at GameStop cheaper than DL stuff is!AND some are rare PSP titles.... Wow.
Hell,I can get new Vita stuff cheaper at times than Sony offers DLs on PSN.So,it pays to look and shop around.

I doubt very seriously that you have 250 titles... I can take a picture of mine... Bet you cannot... Jerk... Put up or shut up...
That is a bit uncalled for now.
I could take a picture of mine too,man
Do you remember the UMD 8 cases??
I have 26 or 27 (28?) of them.ALL full of UMDs.I'd have to look for sure, but the last count I remember was 27, the last I looked here.
NO LIE WHATSOEVER.You can believe me or not.
I'd have get them all together to take a picture at some point here.We don't have to go through all that and the name calling now
How many PSPs do you have??I have 6 of them myself.Yes,six of them. Two PSP 1000s,two PSP 2000s,a 3000 and a PSP Go! (also known as a N1001 unit).
Like I said,I've collected PSPs and games since the launch of the PSP in March 2005 here in the U.S.
My GameStop remembers me VERY WELL here on 2 FOR 1 DAY and etc. I CAN PUT UP.

It is cool... Just felt you were giving me the business... I am just simply tired of getting playd by Sony... I am going to go back to playing PSP games on the PSP and hoping that they get the Vita game offerings back on track... I have bought in... Hope they can get the developers on board...
