Yes the ps3 is a great machine but there should be more apps in it, it should have its own YouTube, Facebook, twitter, flicker, crackle, ign, and battlelog app. I know Xbox has some of this apps and probably you guys are going to say to get a Xbox which I already have one. Sony and 3rd party developers should develope more for the ps3 and not just on the Xbox.
Just about all of those are built right into the browser.
And having individual apps being "better" is your opinion, not supported any more so since we already HAVE those apps built into the browser.
Redundant; (adjective) Exceeding what is necessary or natural. Superfluous.
Seems having individual versions of those "apps" even though they are built into the browsers, fits that defintion to a proverbial T. You already HAVE these apps. So saying "C'MON SONY!!" isn't going to help any. And is it really that difficult to go an extra step to access them?
Ok man it's just an idea I had don't take it seriously.
Please don't pay any mind to Captain, I believe he just likes to be argumentative just for the heck of it.
Although you can access those apps through the PS3 web browser, the experience isn't the same. My issue is that you can't use the remote control to choose options in the browser, you are forced to use the DS3 controller, which IMO is more awkward to use.
I think because you can access those services through the PS3 web browser, there isn't a lot of urgency to develop dedicated apps. Because the X360 doesn't (yet) have a web browser, dedicated apps had to be developed to give it those features.
What I think is a real shame is that Crackle is owned by Sony, and the app on the X360 looks and performs much better than the web based version that runs on the PS3...
