I want to keep my trophies and dlc content.
So any suggestions?
And my appologies if this has been answered already - yes I'm a newbie here and thank you for all and any input.
Johnny.

All of your info is kept online.... your trophies and your DLC.
You only need to deactivate your old PS3 and sign in with your PSN ID on the new PS3 and activate it

Your trophies and other statistics are all stored online, there's no need to worry about losing them. & your dlc will all be available for redownload from the psn store-- to access them again just go to the store and click downloads at the top right.

that is all well but why not jus upgrade the one you have to 500gb, the new ps3 ss is no offense but very cheaply built, i mean by upgrading ur old ps3 it will prolly b cheaper and u will have a better quality machine, i have the ps3 slim 320 and love it , amazing mahine, would never tradeit for the new ss model but hey thts ur choice to make if u want one.

While the superslim is probably cheaper to build, the construction is pretty solid. If down the road this machine does break, it will likely be cheaper to fix than the regular slim...

So evem though I dont have playstation plus account I can still de-activate my old then relog into the new one?
hdavis27, I would I'm just not 100% on what would be the correct hd model for my cechl01 and I don't want to screw it up.

Yes. PS+ allows you to backup game saves on the cloud, but all you asked for is trophies and DLC. These are tied to your account and stored online for everyone.

Easy......
The PS3 takes a 2.5" laptop hard drive, it needs to have a height no taller than 9.5mm or 0.37inches
if you want a 500Gb hdd, this is perfect choice
