This has been asked before and the general consensus is it won't be free for a good long time. Additionally if you let your Plus membership lapse you won't be able to play 3,4 or 5 even if you purchased them unless you buy the season pass. One and two were given free to plus members and the way the game is set up if you don't have access to one you can"t play the following chapters either.

My understanding was you can't play the later chapters at all if you don't have access to the first one...
That's what I was saying but I typed "can" instead of "can't". Thanks for catching that. I'll edit my reply.

I agree that would be the ideal strategy behind making 1 & 2 free, and I say it worked on me! I was skeptical on picking up the games as their Jurrasic Park series left me....unimpressed, but the Walking Dead eps were absolutely fantastic.
