Re: Vita Games Reviews Thread

Here is my LBP PS Vita review from my blog.

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita Review

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita is the best LittleBigPlanet yet.

Story
LittleBigPlanet has never been known for having a deep, moving story and LBP PS Vita is no exception. In the campaign of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, Sackboy must save Craftworld. There are interesting characters but the story isn’t great and this should be expected. LittleBigPlanet isn’t known for the story, it’s known for the incredible gameplay.

Gameplay
In LittleBigPlanet PS Vita’s story mode, there are 40 levels and 5 worlds. You can play through these levels with friends and anyone online. The story mode is enjoyable and there are many collectibles to find such as stickers, costumes, and tools that can be used to create levels. Versus and challenge levels are also in this game. The level design is great and creative. The Vita’s features such as front and rear touch are used in this game. However they are not a burden at all and feel perfectly natural with LBP. Unlike the other LBP games, LBP PS Vita features an arcade. The arcade features minigames that must be unlocked. These games are touchscreen games that are nothing like the platforming you usually do in the game. Sackboy isn’t even in most of these games. Of course players can create their own touchscreen minigames as well. Players can also still create their own levels and games. The level editor is even better than it is in the other LBP games. With the Vita’s touchscreen, creating a level has never been easier. This game also has all of the tools from LBP2 and more. You no longer need a PlayStation Eye (who even has one?) to take pictures, instead you can just use the Vita’s built in cameras. Yes, because of this there will be many grief reports. One tool that stands out is The Memorizer. This tool allows you to create levels/games that save progress. You can now create RPGs in LittleBigPlanet that remember stats, stories that remember where you left off, and games that unlock levels as you progress. Sharing levels is also very easy and browsing through levels is also just as easy. LBP Vita also has a Cool Levels category as well as a Team Picks category.

Sound/Graphics
During the beta when I first saw the graphics, I was blown away. Even now, when the game is actually complete, I am still amazed by the graphics. It honestly looks similar to the console LBP games. This is definitely one of the best looking Vita games so far. The physics in the game are great and the soundtrack is great also.

Lasting Appeal
With tons of skilled level creators developing levels and games all of the time, LBP PS Vita is practically endless. This game is relaxed and is one of the best games to play with friends. Just messing around is tons of fun. There are countless things that you can create and play. There are tons of unlockables and the story levels can be aced (completed without dying) to unlock even more items. No one should get bored of this game for an extremely long time.

Closing Comments
LittleBigPlanet PS Vita is certainly one of the best Vita games out now. There is so much to do and this is one of the best games to play with friends. Also if you want more casual games on the Vita, this is like having a completely free app store with tons of games. There are incredible levels and games that users have created. If you have a Vita don’t even think twice. Get this game.

Re: Vita Games Reviews Thread

Very good review xTurmoilZz I agree on just about everything though the 1 part that I can't agree with is the "Gameplay: 9.5/10". I loved everything about the Vita sized LBP up to the arcade portion using touchscreen only.  Even though I have done everything in the Arcade I didn't have to much fun messing around with touchy controls (pun intended).

My personal score would match yours on everything but Gameplay which takes a bit of a hit with the touch controls, I'd give it a 7.5/10 mainly cause pin point precision is what you need but wasn't what you got from it.

-Sorry Sackboy-

I have my own review too. if it's ok, I would like to share

Dokuro Review

The love of the undead

Some months after PS Vita has been launched, we've seen limited selection of game genres.  The first batch of games that were released for Vita were not enough to convinced playstation fans or just gamers in general to get Vita. Given that PS Vita’s market is getting low, at the looks of it they are doing lots of tricks such as different packages. But this scenario is changing due to the press releases being published all over the internet. Big games… big expectations…

It’s been some weeks since I started poking around forums and started checking out people’s reasons for buying a Vita. Dokuro, one of the games that have been suggested to me caught my interest. Dokuro is a puzzle-platformer which recently announced by GungHo Online.

dokuro 1

Princess
First thing potential players would ever noticed about Dokuro is its visuals, which is the game’s highest point. Settings of the game are pretty fulfilling; mad boss, princess being captured and a little skeleton trying to rescue the princess.  In order to progress, you have to make the safe way for the princess who is totally dependent on you. At first I thought the princess stops walking whenever dokuro is on his Prince transformation, but sadly it’s not the case. The princess was designed just to keep walking forward whether something would kill her like spikes, fire or even a falling platform. YES, it’s really annoying but that’s the challenge of it, you have to escort the helpless princess from point A to B. Countless times, you will be restarting a certain save point/level because the princess becomes stuck where a crate needs to drop, but again this is not a bad thing; while frustrating, it is also extremely motivating to keep that silly broad from mucking up her own escape while mastering each and every level layout.

dokuro2

Skeleton and Prince
So Dokuro has 2 forms; normal mode is the little skeleton, which can double jump and bash enemies away but cannot kill them. Second is the handsome prince who can carry the princess whenever there’s obstacles, and can kill enemies. The transformation occurs upon using the potion that also cools down on a certain time when not in use.

Chalk
Based from some reviews and guides I've read there are 3 different chalks
The chalk is the tool that can help you manipulate your surroundings.
White = to repair the broken ropes to move the boulders or platform
Red = create a fuse to light up fire woods or ignite an explosive barrel.
Blue = a line forms a water surface to lift the wooden boxes.

Early boss Fight
There will be a number of level/save points with a boss at the end. Even though you’re on your beginner’s stage you still need to face a boss monster. While fighting with the boss, there are still tricks that you need to discover to help you defeat the boss.

dokuro3

Dokuro sure helps people to improve on their puzzle-solving skills. YES this game is somewhat frustrating but that will motivates you to solve the puzzle more.

Rating: 8.5/10
Ok so here's a little demo video for you! ENJOY!!!

Feel free to criticize or comment on it :smileyvery-happy:

P.S. English is not my native language so I know there will be some off grammar or whatnot
