Using Old PSN ID on new PS.

2 replies 388 views Edited Apr 18, 2011

My old PS3 broke and Sony has sent me a new one, but I need to know how to use my same old user name?? I do not want to create another new e-mail address just to create another PSN ID. Any advice would help. Thank you.

That would be an easy solution,

I am going the same thing now, except that my old PS3 & games were stolen.

i was advised as a precautionary measure, go to your account management for ( Dill5482, your current PSD ID) change/update your password to a new one.

when Logging in and signing up to your new PS3 PSN Account for the first time, use EXISTING ACCOUNT option with your same PSD ID with the new password that was created earlier through us.playstation.com website.

That should preserve your Old PSN ID

Like the above poster said, to use your old PSN name, after you get your new PS3, go to where it say create PSN, and in there you will get an option that says Use existing account. and enter your info for that account.
