@ Bruno: are you talking about when its trying to log in? It just hangs?

If that happens press the PS button on your controller, then Quit game, then get back into TM and try a second time.

Why? It works wonders for me.

Unfortunately, it doesn't just hang. It turns off my PS3!!!

Also, it's not any issue related to cooling or the power source. I have 35 + Blu-Ray games, and 15+ DL games on hard drive and I can play ALL of them with absolutely no issues. I usually play for hours non-stop, and never had an issue with any of my games.

Well, I guess it's tough luck for me... Apparently this issue got old and not many people seem to care. Sad...

And what would you like them to do? Send you a new and improved disc? A brand new ps3?

People care but there's nothing you can do except complain, or try certain things.

The game works just fine because there's still tons of people playing online every single day.

New disc? New PS3?

I never said that.

A patch is all that's needed. Being a software developer, it's clear to me the developers did not test the game fully on all different PS3 platforms and configurations.

I know the game works for most people, but it has also crashed on a reasonable number of systems, enough for people to post here and on other forums.

The alternative to your ironic suggestions would be: I should buy a new PS3 to play the game and the costs should be all mine. Sorry but this is unacceptable to me and I won't do it.

Like I said, and you basically confirmed with your unhelpful reply, tough luck for me.

Yes tough luck for you. The problem is the coding on that's on disc I presume, that a patch wouldn't be able to fix.

Bruno you may have to replace the thermal paste on your 60 gig. I had one too but mine had the fan mod where the fan was always on high; my system sounded like a jet but instead of a system shutdown I would get the overheating message that pops up in the upper right corner of the screen the same way the low battery controller message pops up.

MY 60 gig eventually died and I have a super slim now that handles the game perfectly. Like tijuana said its a heat issue, Jaffe even mentioned the game pulls a lot of resources on that long start up, and its been times when I'm playing the game and wonder how my ps3 can even keep up with the sheer chaos of this game.

Changing the thermal paste will help keep your system cooler thus maybe giving you a better chance to play the game.  Here's a place you can get info on how to get your 60 gig running cooler     http://www.squidoo.com/3-tips-for-a-cooler-running-and-greener-ps3-system-models-cecha01-cechg01-
