I added a bigger HD to my fat PS3 a few months ago. Was still using the stock 80gb. Upgraded to a 1TB drive and love having all the space for PS+ downloads. I have a crap load of stuff installed and stuff have 643GB free.

Nice!

Good right?

Not a huge fan of Seagate, but yes, that will work.

The reason I do not like Seagate is because I know too many people who have them, and they fail. I just upgraded my HDD, bought a Samsung, but didn't know Seagate bought Samsungs Hard Drive Diviison, so I was sent a Seagate. Downloaded all my games and demos again, installed everything, was working fine, then I had sony reauthorize my video content, and I used it and downloaded my stuff, the next morning, the drive died without warning.

Had to RMA the Seagate, and I am still waiting on a second reauthorization from Sony for my video content again.

I ended up going with a WD Scorpio Black 320GB

It's on sale until the 31st, for a additional $10.50 off. I actually bought it last time this sale was going on. No issues with this drive at all.

Here is the 750gb model since you was interested in that size instead, which is also on sale for 15% off

You'll pay a little more, but you're getting a much better brand, and you're getting a extra 3 years on the warranty. Seagte is offering 2 years for the drive you posted, and the WD drives I linked are offering 5 years. I honestly recommend paying a tiny bit more which isn't much in this case, actually only about 2 to 3 dollars more, and you'll go with the better drive, and better warranty.

Hopefully, this helps you and others out.

Yup, should get it by Monday. now I just need to find a big enough HDD or Flash drive to back up all the stuff currently on my PS so I could go through the process of installing and restoring data. Then im gonna install all my disc games back on and download every single ps plus game i ever got. Kinda excited for all this lol, really wish they would allow you to install games and run them without the disc on your console. Least that way I dont have to get up to change disc... im really lazy

I just upgraded to my PS3 to the Scorpio Black 750GB earlier this week from 320GB  Scorpio Black that was running out of space to hold my growing digital downloads and PS+ offerings...

It working great so far, my only issue I've run into is my concern over the Advance Format 4k sectors that the hard drive has and whether or not the PS3 is compatible with it (which if not only results in slight performance loss with certain read write operations)
