so like logical had said, need firmware on flash drive, blank hdd. hook both up, power on and should work. if not enter safe mode and restore system #6 right? or am i missin something...

didnt know it was sooo complicated lol. doesnt hurt to ask n see i was just wondering cause i have the cable for other things

sony needs to make it less complicated for us dummies lol, im a carpenter/ cabinet maker and this is not made out of wood

IMO it isn't that complicated, but it could be made easier and more straightforward like Microsoft's approach. I think it will work a lot better if you use drives that are designed for USB rather than use devices that don't have USB interfaces and you use adaptors.

i got you now, so am i right then- firmware on flash drive, blank hdd,hook both up, power on and should work- if not enter in safe mode and restore system #6  correct? and btw the only thing i was using was a ext hdd formated in fat32 and i guess it couldnt find it. and i think they should take a Microsoft approach, plug n play lol

back for a while now, and got the firmware on the new 16gb flash drive from best buy( only 12.99) im just doin a last backup utility from the ps3. then we will do some butchery lol
