I already find the new youtube app for ps3 horrible.  Its Almost identical to the xbox version.  So far there is massive slowdowns and freezing from the app.  Especially while you're watching a vid, and tryin to search for something else (if searching from home, it still takes awhile to load).  The vids that are featured in each category seem to be the only ones, that load quickly.  This app uses the same lame interface and search as the xbox.  Where the letters are up top and you have to scroll left to right.  Why not let us use the ps3 keyboard, also I cannot use my usb keyboard at all for this app.  That slows me down a lot.  The vids are not in HD, although it is better then the horrible ps3 brower vid quality, but in this day in age, not having HD is outdated and doesn't make use of our HD tv's.  Once again my phone shows how much more advanced it is compared to the ps3.  I thought yah were gettin your act together, but Sony losing millions of more money recently, shows that isn't the case.

Your phone is still only doing better in the software department. 

Ps3 is a fine example of what happens when you pair decent hardware with poor software. PS3 has been able to decode the .H264 profile in full 1080p since day 1 in 2006. Last time I checked Youtube is still using this standard to encode their HD videos. So it was nothing short of mind blown when I saw how pixalated the video was, certainly it was not HD. Looked about 480p to me.

You're right. It is awful. My autistic 15 year old brother with limited communications needs the old app back. He is going crazy because the new app does not support the keyboard and has that terrible key selection. When he goes crazy things break! Like walls and other objects.

Actually there is hd you need to go on your YouTube account on pc and enable hd for videos. Then re sync your account to your app and theres hd of course its 720p since the app itself runs in that resolution which is stupid.

The new youtube app on PS3 is really bad, its impossible to search where you left off on a video. Their is no subtitle ability in it either. And some of the videos don't show up. IT BLOWS.
