Has anybody tried this with media server on? Because when i have media server on i get NAT type 3 and when i have it off i get NAT type 2.

I have a doozy of a problem with my NAT settings...I currently live in an apartment that is wired for ethernet, so I do not have a router or a modem in my room, just a simple ethernet jack that my PS3 connects into. I have absolutely no clue how to change my NAT setting, considering the guide is under the assumption that the users have a modem or router. Is there any way for me to change my NAT setting or am I stuck with type 3? Thanks for any advice.

you say that nat 3 is connected wrong but i have had nat3 since i bought my ps3 and it has worked great, no problems, i believe that nat 3 just means that you are behind a router AND a firewall

I was having problems and could not get these instructions to work.  I saw on another thread that someone recommended updating the router firmware.  I did that and then I was finally able to this.   Thanks for the help you guys!!!!  It works good  now and I'm on NAT2.
