Re: The ULTIMATE ultimate guide to fixing your NAT

I did everthing jg101987 demonstrated and was still getting NAT 3, but as soon I enabled DMZ listing the IP addy for the PS3 I retested the connection and I was rockin'!! NAT 2 now, but I would never have gotten that far without this guide. Awesome stuff mang... you helped me out tremendously.

Re: The ULTIMATE ultimate guide to fixing your NAT

To change the NAT type go to the network settings and go to where it says "media server connection" and disable it and then goto "internet connection test" and do the test and make sure that the NAT Type is number 2 and I know that this works because I had to do it. and plus its alot simpler than this but thanks for the guide.

Re: The ULTIMATE ultimate guide to fixing your NAT

Alright, I have done everything to the dot, disabled my media connection like the poster above told me to do, enabled UPnP, and I still get the goddamned 3.

Re: The ULTIMATE ultimate guide to fixing your NAT

In my experience,  The NAT 3 can also be due to your ISP.  I was having problems with a NAT 3 connection.  I tried everything I could, used the steps in all the guides I found, used all the advice others gave me.  Then I called me internet provider and asked them to do a test connection with a hole in their firewall for my ip.  Well after that I had an instant NAT 2.  So, you might give your ISP a call if you absolutly cannot get anything else to work.

after you do everthing the guide says you have to go back into the
router's settings and disable upnp (in the router) because it is no
longer needed once the ports are forwarded, plus the changes you
made won't take affect until you do this.
