Sadly alot of PSP games and PS1 classics like CrashBandicoot for instance work on the EU front with no poblems. Their PS1 and PSP library availibility on the Vita store is downright fantastic, makes the US one a joke to laugh at. I honestly believe Sony in general just felt bad giving people in Europe the shaft for so long with delayed game releases or non-releases on all Playstation Platforms that is was due time to make back what they lost over the years - the trust from the consumer and fanbase who choose the Playstation brand in Europe. So they are doing a switcheroo - when people in Europe griped about us in the USA getting a game weeks or months prior before them, the tables are turned now. We cry for the Crash Bandicoot games, Gex2, Soul Reaver, and a couple other PS1 classics - Sony gave it DAY ONE when PS1 compatibility came on to the Vita to the folks in Europe - USA got nothing but scraps and afterthoughts, none of the jewels Europe got. PSP games like all the metal gear PSP games, Syphon Filter PSP games, and a few others were also given to people in Europe without even a shrug in the Vita Store - USA still is waiting on Sony... Guess it was bound to happen eventually, Fans in Europe have been voicing their anger for a while at Sony, Sony decided to fix the problem and make things right with them by flipping the switch with USA now getting things late or not at all.

Re: The Fight to Get MGS PO to work in US Continues...

Sony might not have outright said all psp and ps1 games would be on vita but they did imply that they would, by making ststements that we would be able to play all our ps1 and psp games we have already bought on psn without paying for them again on the vita. That implies that they will be there to play. We have all heard them make that statement and others like it. But as I have said before, that's water under the bridge now. The EU virses USA thing is starting to make sony lose face to a lot of people on the USA side of it now. It could have long term effects if they do not watch out. For example my ps3 fat broke, replaced under warrenty with a regular one. That is one of the reasions I bought it because of backward capabilitys. I am upset at that. Year 2012 I did not buy any full priced games all year because I fill let down by them. Now with the issues on the vita not being taking care of like ps1 and psp among others how many people will slow down or not buy in 2013 because of aggravation with the situation at hand. I am just saying some times it effects more than the here and now. Sony has lost enough lately that I don't think they could stand losing much more.

Great point man, The Vita is a joke till they can port more games over. They should be porting PS2 classics at the very least.

Some people may consider me annoying or just selfish. I really don't care. I got my Vita with intentions of playing certain games on it. I don't care if you like it or not but, I really enoyed Metal Gear Portable Ops and after rebuying it on the PSN store just to find out it doesn't work on the Vita really **bleep** me off. I could deal with the $10 wasted but, with the lack of games on teh Vita, It's time for Sony to step it up on the support of the PSP games.

I am one guy and my voice doesn't make much of a difference but, didn't feel like just stting on my hands. So I sent Sony an email requesting Metal Gear Portable Ops to work in the U.S. This is what I got in return... I also felt appropriate to not include the name of the representative that helped me out cause either way there just speaking on behalf of SCEA

"Hello Shady,

Thank you for contacting PlayStation® Technical Support. My name is ----, your PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita) specialist. I am more than happy to assist you today with your questions regarding the games compatible with the PS Vita™.

Currently some PSP® and PlayStation®Minis are available for the PS Vita™. I have provided a link with a list of PSP® and Minis available currently for the PS Vita. More titles will be available at a later time, please keep an eye on the link below for further information.

Also, I recommend contacting the publisher of the game, <Konami>, they will be able to provide you with more information regarding the release of Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops to the Sony Entertainment Network Store. I have provided their contact information below.

Konami

I do apologize I was unable to give you specific information, but keep in mind the SONY Entertainment Network Store undergoes maintenance and receives updated material on Tuesdays. Please continue to check the Sony Entertainment Network Store periodically.

You can also use this link to track upcoming game releases:

Thank you for your time and allowing me to assist you with your Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops inquiry."

Basically, the default response for the most part and there basically telling me to blame Konami. I know this game work in Europe. Check Out Video...

Now I know this probably pointless and a lot people will not care but, I feel that if I can make Sony aware of one game then who is to say we can't make them aware of more? At this point I don't know if I should point the finger at Sony or Konami but, the bottom line is I want this game to be playable on my Vita. It was my favortie PSP games and although it won't save the Vita I feel that pushing Sony to get some PSP games on the Vita is good for us.

I'm against the hacking of the console but, with a lack of Vita games out there and a lack of UMD support and lack of PSP games on the PSN market. I can't blame some guys for trying to find ways to mess with there Vita's. I'm not trying to be an outlaw here, I'm just trying to play a game on my Vita that I now bought twice.

ITs already been asked and answered.    Hdeo K  has  said Mgpo does'nt work in the usa because the way it was made and licensed, this game and metal gear acid series  will not   work  in ps vita in usa , becuase of the way they where made at the time and also the coding,  and license at the time.licenses  might be  lifted  but the coding at the time  make it impossilbe to transfer the game to  psvita.

This is why  they put   vr missions in  new hd  collection thing  for mGs instead.. which  works on psvita.   Its not a sony fault its konomai fault.

happy gaming in your  future
