Aye Pinoy, Sony does need to do something about PS3 owners in the Philippines. Yes it's a small country, yes piracy is rampant... however:
1. the ps3 is not hacked, no games can be pirated on it.
2. Plenty of Filipino's abroad send money home to their family to spend, as well as gifts (balikbayan boxes anybody ) There's money to be made there at little cost, even if it's not a lot it counts.
3. I'll be pissed if I go to visit my family in Manila and not be able to play my ps3 or buy stuff off the store!
Add me to the list Pare!
Yes, service center support would be very much appreciated especially now since I just broke my ps3 and the sony service center said that I have to get the parts myself and bring it to them for them to fix my ps3. All of that because they said "Sony doesn't support the ps3 in this country".
What a hassle right? So Sony, please hear us out.
It'd be great to have the same kind of support for those in the Philippines as they do for those in other Asian countries. However, just having the PSN support is a good first step.
If it's piracy they (Sony) are actually worried about, then maybe having official support over here would make things easier (in terms of market observation, etc.). As the author of the post said, it is indeed possible that people think that piracy is not illegal at all.
And it would, I suppose, make the games and the consoles slightly less expensive.

Sorry for the short hiatus. I've been busy with my studies.
Anyway, I can't edit the original post for some reason. So, currently, we can't change the tally.
