Suggestions for the no-backwards compatibility issue for PSN on the PS4?

14 replies 178 views Edited Mar 15, 2013

Maybe the game developers can make a "PS4 edition" of their games and if you bought the game on PS3 you can get it again but at a  discounted price (or maybe for free?)

What are your suggestions for the non-backwards compatibility issue?

I don't see the no backwards compatibility so much as an issue, as I don't plan on selling my PS3 when I get the PS4

the problem is the fact that it is discouraging people (including myself) from getting a PS4

But the main point of buying a PS4, should be to play PS4 games. Not PS3.

I bought a PS3 after B/C was cut out. Did I care? No, because if I wanted to play PS2 games, I'd use my PS2.

So you expect developers to rework their game for little to no money?!?! HAHAHAHAHA

Why? You're buying a PS4 to play PS4 games. Not PS3 games.

He must be young. I distinctly remember my SNES not playing my NES games.

I guess if Sony made a mistake along the way, it was having backwards compatibility between the PS2 and PS1. They got people greedy thinking that's the way things have to be....that they're entitled to it.

Nothing on the PS4 really encourages me to buy it for full price, I am happy with my ps3 games and the games on PSN. If there is no PS3 games on it then there really isn't a reason for me to buy it.

Graphics don't mean anything to me.

Then don't!

Are you expecting the community to encourage you? Or make a big boo-hoo or something? It's your money, you can spend it or not spend it on anything you pick.

Oh, that's it. There's NEVER going to be a game EVER on the PS4 that will be worth playing. The half dozen launch games are going to be the only ones that will EVER be released.<Sarcasm>

I know it's difficult for many to think long term in the NOW NOW NOW  21st century, however this is not a short term proposition. You buy a console to play games over a course of YEARS, not hours.
