Sound Off: PS Plus 12/24 Update: Retro City Rampage Free - Holiday Sales Week 2

[ Edited ]

Here's this week's PlayStation Plus update from my post on the PlayStationblog:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/12/24/playstation-plus-update

Trying to get in the regular routine of posting these to the forums. On these Sound Off posts, I'll be floating them to the top, as well as subscribing to them so I'll get daily updates on the conversations here. From there, I'll jump in where I can to answer any questions, or just conversate with you guys on Plus in this space. Thanks! Don't forget to vote in this post; there should also be the same poll here in the forums, as well as an additional one too.

PlayStation Plus Update: 12-24-2012

While we’re smack-dab in the middle of the holiday season, we thought we’d drop in and deliver some new content for PlayStation Plus members. Don’t forget that you still have time to make Plus a great stocking stuffer for the PlayStation gamers in your life. You can buy online, get the voucher code, and then give that voucher code to your friends and family.

Now, to business! Plus members will be getting the wonderfully hilarious 8-bit styling of Retro City Rampage free, as well as extra savings on the continuation of the PSN Holiday Sale.

Important note: We’ll be updating the PlayStation Store today (Monday, 12/24) due to the Christmas holiday. Therefore, this Plus update will be live later today when the update has published.

Don’t have PlayStation Plus? Go to the PlayStation Store on your PS3 or PS Vita or click here to get access.

December 24th PlayStation Plus Update

Retro City Rampage (PS3 and PS Vita)

Retro City Rampage pays tribute to games from days gone by, while adopting the open-world gameplay of modern day titles. Crafted by a small team led by Brian Provinciano, the game features an 8-bit art style, complete with amazing chiptunes. Since this a Cross-Buy game, this Plus deal is available for both PS3 and PS Vita Plus members. Check out all the great coverage from this game from the PlayStation Blog and find out why Joystiq.com called it “…the perfect game for gamers…”.

Nothing for me this week, except RCR of course. Oh well, I got CS:GO last week for a great price, and I'm addicted to it now. Looking forward to next week's update.

If I have to tell you how awful these weeks update was, then you don't get it, -.-

I'm not one to complain (I've never complained about Plus updates before), especially about free games, but I'm pretty miffed that for Christmas... the biggest holiday of the year... we get a sub-par downloadable title and that's it. Come on Sony!

I mean seriously, they have tons of exclusive franchises that they don't have to pay to post on IGC and they aren't taking the oppurtunity. I guarantee Plus subscriptions would skyrocket if the likes of Uncharted Dual Pack, SOCOM 4, the original InFAMOUS, or Starhawk were made more permenant fixtures. For me though, I would at least be satisfied if we were given Sorcery. It's the only game that truly showcases the PS Move's ability, and I would really like to play it, just would never fork over the money for it.

Only Journey for me this week; although I kinda hoped for a bundle of Journey and The Unfinished Swan just like EU's sale. Oh well.
