Re: Sony's projected failure rate

Nov 14, 2013

Tonight may be the first night a pray for something. It will be  that my console is flawless and evryone elses as well. I know there will be hiccups in new hardware, just wish it was a software issue so it could be patched rather than hardware issues. Hope all will be having fun tomorrow and not on the phone with Sony. Ughhh

For those that may not know, 0.4% is actually a fantastic failure rate. I mean it's not good to get a faulty console, but that's a very low number. It can (and probably will go up at least a little) up to around 5% and still be in good shape.

uhh yeah... 0.4% is an insanely good rate. It's not even a whole number.

Well I bought the 2 year protection plan at Best Buy. So I can go there and just swap it out if anything should happen.

This isn't a good start to the PlayStation 4 o_o. Let's just hope the bugs get fixed in time.

You do know that even if you don't buy a system at launch, you still run the risk of running into issues ESPECIALLY if the issue is a hardware problem? Take the XBOX 360's RROD for example. The reason why people don't get a system at launch is to avoid software and network issues.

And besides.. 4,000 bad units out of 1,000,000. That's a pretty good projection!

I want to see what X1's projected failure rate is. If it's lower, that would be awesome! The more these two companies compete, the better. As long as they keep one-upping each other, us gamers can just sit back and enjoy the awesome things coming our way! Screw fanboyism.

since most people don't know this.. check your terms of service for your credit cards..  they offered EXTENDED warranty!! with your purchase with the card .. usually  2x..

90 days.. 180 days

6 months  1 year

1 year..  2 yr  (max)
