Sony's projected failure rate

26 replies 545 views Edited Nov 14, 2013
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/11/14/sony-addresses-reports-of-failed-playstation-4... This equals out to 4000 bad units for every projected million sold. Fingers crossed that a lot of people get one of the good ones. Good luck tonight and beyond, everyone.

Their math is wrong. It's at least 10 bad units out of a few hundred in hand. They've shipped a lot more than have been plugged in.

The number is apparently based on pre-launch units. Source: https://twitter.com/yosp/status/400995520908632064

I read somewhere about 5000 units won through Taco Bell. If that is the case, their numbers are generous.

So if my math is right that's 1 out every 2500.

Unless they failed at getting the thermal properties fo the APU correct when designing the system, I don't think they will have more than the typical 5% or less. I'd say likely 2-3%.

Approximately if you round out preorders at 1 million. Apology for the double post. I'm mobile.
