If Sony drops the price on this thing so soon after launch, then they better take care of the customers that were there for them on day one and paid full price. A rebate giving the difference of the drop with proof of purchase receipt.
Nothing new has come out for us since launch and we paid full price so why should we be punished?
Well sure the 3ds is outselling the Vita but...
I'm sure Toyotas outsell Ferrari's as well
There's a much larger ratio price gap between a Toyota and a Ferrari vs a 3DS and a Vita.
No one buys a Ferrari as a "Get around the town" kind of car, they buy one to show off and for special occasions. It's not something people drive daily.
A 3DS and a Vita are both meant for the same purpose: portable gaming. The Vita is not just a "trophy system" that people buy to show off.
I think that vita sales would probably increase if they were to simply lower the price of their memory cards. The machine itself is a fair enough price but if they lower the price of the accesories and games on the PSN store, I think they'll see better sales.
I know, the memory cards are a bit expensive, even with the deals.
The layoffs are true though.

Bottom line is you can think it's doing well or failing. Sony's quarterly earnings and stock are horrid. Is it the Vita's fault entirely?? NO. Is it part of the problem? YES.
This thing is bombing. I'll go on record by July 4th for sure, price drop at the latest....unless Sony wants a horrid Quarter 2 report that is...then it might be mid August. But it is COMING....patience, my young Padawans....
I tend to agree with you. If there isn't an official price drop, I think there will be at least a discounted holiday bundle like the $200 PS3 LBP2/R&C bundle sold on Black Friday last year...
